The Executive Secretary, Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS), Dr. Niyi Oginni has enjoined the OHIS Health Providers Forum, to ensure that they abide by the rules and regulations guiding OHIS operations, which includes : the vision, the mission, the goal and the core values.

The ES, therefore implored The Chief Medical Directors and the Desk Officers from both the public and the private sectors, to study the packages given to them, which will serve as an anchor for them, since the programme starts immediately after a formal commencement flagoff ceremony by Governor Oyetola.

In his presentation, the ES, Dr Oginni outlined the plans and benefits embedded in OHIS operational packages, that it is in conformity with the world standard. Therefore, all health providers should comply to the set standard as stipulated in the booklets. Dr Oginni reminded them that clients satisfaction is germane to OHIS. With time both the health providers and clients will be satisfied, when the programme is in full operations, the ES stated.

In their separate presentations, both the Director, OHIS Quality Assurance and the Methodology consultant for OHIS, Dr Shina Igbalaye and Mr Mohammed Basheer. respectively, the duo emphasized the importance of measurement of health providers performance based on : Effectiveness, Equity, Efficiency, Timeliness and Patient`s Centeredness.

Participants asked many questions which were answered by the Executive Secretary to their satisfaction. About 68 facilities were represented, Medical Directors and Desk Officers from each facility.

In addition to the OHIS plans and benefits packages distributed to the participants, they were also given Certificates by the Executive Secretary, as OHIS Health Providers.

A thousand copies of enrollment forms were also distributed to each of the facility to register patients at the point of encounter. A renowned Medical Practitioner of repute, Dr. Olaosebikan who is the founder and Chief Medical Director of Onward Specialist Hospital, Okinni was among the participants.
